ACNA West

ACNA West has emerged from the fruit borne by prayer and fellowship among ACNA bishops in  the American West. In the early days of the ACNA, many dioceses were formed without regard to their capacity to function with all of the necessary components of diocesan life and mission. For younger and developmental seasons experienced by bishops in the western United States, the vision of building dioceses collaboratively has emerged, and the result is a stronger partnership in the gospel for participating bishops and their dioceses. After more than a decade of meeting for prayer and fellowship, with experimentation in collaborative ministry on clergy examinations, several initiatives have been identified that add strength and effectiveness to our common mission.

Values

  1. Honor geography as a mission strategy that we hold individually and corporately as historic  and missional.

  2. Be intentionally collaborative in supporting one another and, when possible, meeting  together the challenges of mission and ministry in this new millennium.

  3. Mutual care-giving as bishops who express the collegiality of the apostolic office  relationally by prayer, relationship development and shared biblical vision for the church.

  4. Common mission, sharing resources and strengthening every diocese as we build the  Lord’s Kingdom together.

  5. Sacrificially share resources with one another so that every diocese has what it needs in  order to respond effectively to its mission context.

  6. Pursue unity amidst disagreement as we work out our development as an Anglican  movement in a time when fast-moving change requires meaningful missional response.
