Candidates for Ex Comm 2026
Dawn Pedersen
Hi, I’m Dawn Pedersen, my husband is Scott Pedersen, and we have a beautiful daughter, Kara, who is 23. I was born in Illinois and raised in Florida and Georgia. I met my husband while living in Atlanta and attending Atlanta Vineyard Church where Scott was on staff. We married there in 1999 and later moved to London, England to church plant in 2000. Our daughter was born there in 2002. There is where we were positively influenced by the Church of England and developed a deep appreciation and love for Anglicanism.
Little did we know that God was preparing us for a huge transition which led us back to the US in 2005 to Visalia, CA. Scott later sensed God calling him to Holy Orders in 2010. He was ordained a Deacon in May 2011 and ordained a priest in November 2011. In October 2012, God called Scott to be the next Rector of All Saints Anglican Church. Our family moved to Long Beach, and he started on November 26, 2012. All Saints became the Cathedral of the Diocese of Western Anglicans in July 2017 where Scott was later installed as Dean by Bp. Andrews.
I’ve partnered in ministry on the Hospitality team and in the choir ministry, currently serving on the Prayer Team and Lay Reader/Chalice teams. I am the Prayer Team Coordinator and Women’s Ministry Coordinator. I’ve been on staff at All Saints Long Beach since April 2014 as Office Assistant, later as Interim Parish Administrator, a nd then as Rector’s Administrator, currently adding to it, assisting Deacon Eric in the parish office.
I’m honored to be nominated to serve on the Executive Committee and look forward to participating and assisting our diocese moving forward under the leadership of Bishop Phil Ashey.
Fr. Matthew Allen
I am Fr. Mathew Allen, the Associate Rector at Christ Church Anglican in Phoenix. Until this August, I was a bi-vocational Deacon ordained in 2000 as I completed Seminary at St. Michael’s in San Clemente, California as part of the Charismatic Episcopal Church. I have a BS in Aerospace Engineering but have been in Information Technology most of my professional life. I joined ACNA as a Deacon in early 2010 and became part of the Western Anglicans in 2015. I have served as Deacon at Living Faith in Tempe, Arizona for 6 years and have served at Christ Church Anglican the last 4, dedicated to the ministry of Discipleship and Faith Formation.
Completing God’s call on my life as I was ordained to the Presbyterate in August of 2025, I am a full-time priest at Christ Church Anglican. I am honored to serve now as Associate Rector with Fr. Chase Campbell, our Rector. I answered the call as a replacement member of the Executive Committee and am very pleased to continue that tenure in service to the Diocese and in eager support of our Bishop.
Lynn Maudlin
I am a Los Angeles native, the second of four children born to the daughter of an Iowa Methodist minister and a Montana/Iowa farm boy who studied physics in L.A. after WWII. We were very active in the small local Methodist church and I assumed I was a Christian because I was there every week of my life, barring a fever. But God, in His great mercy, showed me that isn't what makes one a Christian: I actually received Jesus as Savior as an 18year-old with a baby and a troubled marriage, and ever since I've been learning how to follow closer after Jesus.
Several years at Larry Norman's Friday night Bible study taught me to take the Bible seriously (because, sadly, my first church didn't) but the nascent Vineyard community kept moving further west and I couldn't afford the gas; a friend at work suggested Pasadena Covenant Church and that became my home for about 7 or 8 years and their excellent choir was my "small group." We left for St Mark's Episcopal in Altadena, and I served on their vestry. My husband drifted away from church and I followed, until our marriage abruptly ended in 1994 and I learned Christ is the only solid rock, all other ground is sinking sand.
St Mark's was lovely but too much in the sway of All Saints in Pasadena, and a friend recommended St Jude's in Burbank. I walked in and the LORD said, "you're home." I was part of the prophetic intercessor's prayer group with Fr Mike Flynn and served on one of several music teams. Later Fr Chuck Mitchell asked me to serve on the vestry, which I did until I moved to Escondido, October 2013, and joined Anglican Church of the Resurrection (Fr Bill Gandenberger). I served on their music team, rebuilt their website, and joined the vestry when asked. When ACR folded, I came to Christ the King in Poway since my mom lived in Poway. Fr Russell Martin asked me to join the vestry and then announced he was leaving - we went through the arduous rector search process but happily found Fr Eric Zolner.
I have continued to serve on the music team and the vestry, currently as clerk. I also spent more than thirty years on the board of directors of the Mythopoeic Society, a small literary non-profit organization, and about 4 years on the board of the Costumers' Guild West, another small non-profit; in both cases they went from shoestring budgets to a solid financial footing during the time I served.
I bring about 45 years of board experience. My career goal was to be a successful singer/ songwriter; I worked for Capitol Records International Division for about 7 years; I produced an extremely low-budget feature film and bounced around the edges of Hollywood but, really, God has kept Himself front and center in my life. If I can serve Him by serving on the DWA Executive Committee, I am very willing.
Fr. Jason Lyon
I am Fr. Jason Lyon, the Rector of Christ's Church Yucaipa in San Bernardino. Since its launch in 2013, my ministry partner and wife, Michelle, and I have been deeply involved with Christ's Church. At that time, I was discerning my call to Holy Orders. Before entering ministry, I applied my business and law degrees as a regulatory consultant for medical device companies.
Upon graduating from seminary, I answered the Lord’s call to ordained ministry. I served as a deacon and assisting priest at Christ's Church Yucaipa from 2019 to 2021, followed by a curacy at St. James Anglican Church in 2022-2023. I was then honored to be called as Rector of Christ's Church Yucaipa in July of 2023.
I believe God is now leading me to serve on the Executive Committee for the Diocese of Western Anglicans, where I am eager to support our Bishop and contribute to the growth and flourishing of our remarkable diocese.
