Urgent Prayer Requests
Dearly Beloved in Christ,
First, Please pray for healing for Bishop Keith Andrews, comfort and strength for Gail. For the third time he is facing cancer of the thyroid and prostate. During his surgery last week for removal of cancerous thyroid tissue, doctors discovered that the cancer has encroached upon his larynx and vocal cords. A new surgical team is assembling to prepare to restore his vocal cords. At the same time, as you read this, Bishop Keith will begin 9 weeks (NOT 9 days, my apologies!) of radiation, five days a week targeting the prostate cancer. I have spoken with +Keith and I know he deeply appreciates your prayers, both for him and Gail.
Secondly, as you read this I will be in Plano, Texas, for a special meeting of the ACNA Bishops from September 21-25 to address the challenges facing our Province. I will provide a report when I return. In the meantime, please pray for the LORD to direct and govern us and all our conversations and decisions this week, by the Holy Spirit, in grace and in truth.
Finally, we are fast approaching our annual Synod October 15-17 at Presbyterian Church of the Master in Mission Viejo! This gathering of our Diocesan family is for everyone all day Thursday and Friday, and our theme will be on how we can do life and ministry together, more and more, in the power of the Holy Spirit! Please pray that everyone whom the LORD wants to be there will come (and there is room for all!). Please register if you have not done so already.

Almighty and immortal God, giver of life and health: We implore your mercy for your servant Bishop Keith, that by your blessing upon him and Gail and upon those who minister to him with your healing gifts, he may be restored to health of body and mind, according to your gracious will, and may give thanks to you in your holy Church; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
#7 FOR A PROVINCIAL OR DIOCESAN CONVENTION OR SYNOD
Almighty and everlasting God, by your Holy Spirit you presided in the council of the blessed Apostles, and you promised, through your Son Jesus Christ, to be with your Church to the end of the world: Be with the council of your Church assembled in Plano, Texas, with the College of Bishops, in your Name and presence. Save us from all error, ignorance, prejudice, and pride; and of your great mercy direct, sanctify, and govern us in our work, by the mighty power of the Holy Spirit; that the order and discipline of your Church may be maintained, and that the Gospel of Christ may be truly preached, truly received, and truly followed in all places, breaking down the kingdom of sin, Satan, and death; till all your scattered sheep, being gathered into one fold, become partakers of everlasting life; through the merits and death of Jesus Christ
our Savior. Amen.

Gracious and everliving Father, you have given the Holy Spirit to abide with us for ever: Bless, we pray, with the Holy Spirit’s grace and presence, the Bishops, Priests, Deacons, and all the Laity who assemble in your Name; that your Church here in the Western Anglican Diocese, being preserved in true faith and godly discipline, may fulfill the will of him who loved her and gave himself for her, your Son Jesus Christ our Savior; who now lives and reigns with you and the same Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
