Fire in the Fireplace: An Anglican Perspective on the Holy Spirit

This month, we held the Los Angeles Deanery Town Hall/Reverse Walkabout. It was a blessed time where Julie and I had the opportunity to get to know so many members of our LA congregations better as we shared lunch and held a spirited and helpful discussion--with lots of listening on my part! Thank you to all who helped make this Town Hall/Reverse walkabout such a helpful contribution to shaping our Vision as a Diocese in the days ahead!

During our time, several people asked if they could receive more teaching through videos and podcasts by their bishop. I am delighted with that ask! We are on the cusp of Pentecost, which gives us a great opportunity to study the person and work of the Holy Spirit, a chance for us to have a fresh Pentecost today, The Holy Spirit is meant for more and needed for more than is currently shown in our churches today. How can we see the fire in our churches today? How can we use it to help others?

The Fire in the Fireplace series explores the work and power of the Holy Spirit in the Christian church today. The videos are each between 4:30 and 7:00 minutes long and accompanied with study notes and guides for small groups.

Over the next few weeks, I will be publishing the videos on our website and sending the videos out in newsletters. If you wish, you can also find the whole series and the accompanying notes here.
