Good Soil, Good News: St. David’s, Burbank, CA
The people of St. David's have a busy ministry in Burbank where they have been a part of the neighborhood for thirteen years. They have had people walk into their church from that neighborhood. Father Astor also visits the nearby Glenville Community College every week and sits with a sign offering "Free Prayer." Typically, thirteen to fourteen people come during that four to five hour span asking for prayer, sometimes crying, and leaving with peace. Fr. Astor plans to bring others with him so that this can become a lay ministry.
Hurricane Hillary made the building where they were meeting unusable. For the time being, they are meeting at St. Luke's in Montrose. While grateful to St. Luke's for the space and for the chance to continue meeting, they ask prayer for a building where they can continue the ministries they established in Burbank and where congregants will have an easier time reaching their church.
