Introduction to Anglican Canon Law

Taught by The Right Rev. Dr. J. Philip Ashey III Bishop of the Diocese of Western Anglicans

The Anglican Center of Theology and Formation, in partnership with Trinity Anglican Seminary, is pleased to offer a unique January intensive: Introduction to Anglican Canon Law, taught by The Right Rev. Dr. J. Philip Ashey III, Bishop of the Diocese of Western Anglicans. This in-person course provides clergy, seminarians, and lay leaders with a rare opportunity to explore the constitutional, canonical, and theological foundations shaping governance within the Anglican Church in North America.

Across five days of focused study, participants will examine the constitution and canons of the ACNA, dioceses, and congregations, with careful attention to the biblical, theological, and juridical principles that guide Anglican polity. The course also addresses current issues affecting the ACNA, offering students not only an academic grounding but a practical and timely lens for their ministries. Special emphasis is placed on the conciliar way of decision-making that characterizes the Anglican Communion and how that tradition has been adapted within our province.

Hosted at All Saints Anglican Cathedral in Long Beach, California, this intensive is available for graduate credit, diploma credit, certificate, or audit. Space is limited, and catered meals are provided by the Anglican Center of Theology and Formation for a modest fee.

There is a book list and further information on the registration page.
